In early 2008 ITZ Australia developed a website for my frozen fruit wholesaling company, The Berry Man (Aus) Pty Ltd. We also subscribed to Search Engine Optimisation to maximise the benefit of the website.
After refining keywords, our company soon became prominent in the results of Google enquiries for our products. The result has been a steady stream of enquiries. Out of these enquiries we have developed relationships with a small number of valuable customers. We would not have attracted these customers without either the website or SEO. It is clear to me that SEO is critical to maximising the benefit of having a website.
In my experience the attitude of a customer is much better if he finds me rather than if I find him. I think there is a much better basis to the relationship as there had to be a reason for the person to be looking, there is personal satisfaction at having found an alternative, and consequently there is not the same level of comparison with previous suppliers. SEO assists this process.
